Women’s Hormone Health

Something has changed.
You want a clear explanation and real options to address it.

Receptors for oestrogen, progesterone and testosterone sit throughout your body. In bone, heart, brain, skin, muscle and gut, so when those hormones fall or fluctuate the effects turn up in many places at once.

That is as true at 32 as it is at 52. Your symptoms and quality of life matter at any age. Whether it is hot flushes, broken sleep, joint aches and new anxiety or period pain that costs you days, PMDD, PCOS or trouble conceiving, they all deserve real investigation. Being told you are fine, or that this is just getting older, is not an answer.

We take the time, investigate properly  and build the plan from your own results.

WOMEN’S HORMONE HEALTH

What brings women to us

Perimenopause and menopause

Falling hormones are a deficiency like any other, and a deficiency can be assessed and addressed, with the aim of keeping you well and functioning fully for the rest of your life. Progesterone, oestrogen and testosterone act on almost every tissue and system in the body, which is why the symptoms of perimenopause and menopause turn up in so many places.

  • Hot flushes and night sweats
  • Disrupted sleep
  • Mood changes and disproportionate irritability
  • Brain fog and losing words
  • Weight gain
  • Vaginal dryness, urinary symptoms, discomfort with sex
  • Loss of libido
  • Joint pain, muscle aches and frozen shoulder
  • Palpitations
  • Tinnitus, dry eyes,
  • A dry or burning mouth
  • Skin changes and thinning and collagen loss
  • Allergies and intolerances

Cycle and fertility

Pain that costs you days every month, bleeding you have to plan your life around, or the mood changes of PMDD are not things to put up with, and being told it is just your period is not an answer. Your cycle is one of the clearest signals of what your hormones are doing, and what you are experiencing usually has a mechanism behind it.

  • Irregular, absent or unpredictable periods
  • Heavy or painful periods
  • PMS and PMDD
  • PCOS
  • Endometriosis
  • Acne
  • Unwanted hair growth
  • Hair thinning or hair loss
  • Difficulty conceiving
  • Coming off hormonal contraception

A cycle is a monthly report on several systems at once, so what is happening often points to thyroid function, to insulin and blood sugar, or to nutrient status rather than the ovaries alone, and we investigate thoroughly.

HOW WE INVESTIGATE

What else changes, and what we look for

The changes you cannot feel

Receptors for these hormones sit throughout your body, so the effects reach well past the reproductive system. Some of the most important changes are the quiet ones, because they shape long-term health while the loud symptoms have your attention.

  • Higher cholesterol, it rises sharply around the final period rather than with age alone.
  • Heart and blood vessel health, where menopause is a real turning point.
  • Reduced insulin sensitivity, it falls as oestrogen falls, with fat shifting toward the abdomen.
  • Bone loss, can begin during perimenopause with declining hormones.
  • Thyroid issues, common in midlife and often shares the same symptom list.
  • Decreased muscle mass and issues with joint health.

What we investigate

Many women come to us having had a single test that didn’t reveal a lot. A single reading catches one moment of a system that moves constantly, so we start with your pattern and test around it.

The baseline covers your hormone status, your thyroid, your cholesterol and heart risk markers, your blood sugar and insulin, your iron and nutrient levels, and your bone health, along with your blood pressure, heart rate, weight and waist.

We read those results against what is optimal for you rather than against the standard normal range, and we look at the pattern across the whole panel rather than one value on its own. Whatever we recommend, we will discuss it with you and design your treatment to suit your needs.

OUR PROCESS

How We Approach Hormone Health

01

Assess

A thorough review of your symptoms, cycle history, previous results, and what you’ve already tried. We take the full picture seriously, including the symptoms you’ve been told don’t warrant investigation.

02

Investigate

Targeted hormone testing that goes beyond standard panels. We look at patterns across multiple markers, conversion pathways, and the related systems that influence how your hormones actually function. Not just whether individual values sit within a broad population reference range.

03

Personalise

Where treatment is indicated, our clinical team includes Australian registered prescribers who can consider the clinically appropriate options for you. Your plan is built around your results and your preferences. You’ll understand not just what you’re taking but why, and what to expect.

04

Optimise

Hormonal health evolves. In follow up consultations we review and adjust over time as your body responds and as your life stage changes.

Get Started

Choose How to Begin

Perimenopause and Menopause Investigation

30 MINUTES · $120

Hot flushes, disrupted sleep, mood changes or brain fog, where you want a focused first conversation. We go through your symptoms, your cycle history and any recent bloods, and work out what is worth investigating.

Cycle and Fertility
Investigation

30 MINUTES · $120

Irregular or painful periods, PMS, PMDD, or trouble conceiving, where you want a focused first conversation. We review your cycle history, your symptoms and any recent results, and work out what is worth investigating.

Extended Perimenopause and Menopause Investigation

60 MINUTES · $240

For a long or complicated history, symptoms across several systems, or previous results you want interpreted. The full hour gives us time to map how your hormones, your thyroid and your metabolic health interact.

Extended Cycle and Fertility Investigation

60 MINUTES · $240

For a long cycle history, several things already tried, or fertility investigations you want interpreted. The full hour gives us time to work through previous results and how your cycle, your thyroid and your metabolic health interact.

If you are unsure, start with the 30min. It fits most first conversations. However, if your history goes back years or there is previous testing to interpret, the hour does in one sitting what would otherwise take two appointments, at the same total cost.

Consultations run to the time booked. If yours needs longer, we will tell you before we go over, and the extra time will be charged.
